Time to Achieve Full Enteral Feeding in Very Low Birth Weight Infants and Associated Factors in Neonatology Unit

Background: Enteral intolerance in premature infants is associated with several morbidities, especially very low birth weight (VLBW). There are only a few dietary practices to provide better outcomes newborns VLBW. This study aimed assess the factors time achieve full enteral feeding (FEF) VLBW.
 Methods: was retrospective on VLBW Neonatology Unit of Sanglah Central General Hospital, Bali from November 2020 January 2022. The started trophic breastmilk and or formula milk. age FEF determined when target 150 ml/kgBW/day reached. association risk analyzed using Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis linear regression analysis.
 Results: A total 79 median gestational 30 weeks (25-38) were recruited. achieved 9(7-15) days. Late (more than 24 hours), severe asphyxia, culture positive-sepsis, mechanical ventilator longer timing FEF. While multivariate analysis, small for (SGA), late feeding, absence prenatal dexamethasone, culture-positive sepsis independent this population.
